From the moment you step into our beautiful and intimate studio space, you'll know that we are not like other portrait studios. Our service is very personal, from your first telephone call, to your portrait session and presentation, to completion of your finished artwork. We love our clients and really want you to be happy with your finished results. We take the time to get to know you and what you want from your portraiture. Also, we take an unlimited number of shots during your session time, and unlike other studios, we don't count shots or "poses," or charge “by the roll,” or charge extra for our expert retouching and handcrafting of every image we create.
Presentation
Your images are projected large on the wall in our comfortable viewing room, and you'll be able to sit back, relax, and enjoy a slideshow of your session. We make choosing your images and frames as easy as possible for you, and can even show you what your finished work will look like. We’ll work together to choose the correct size, cropping, framing and matting. Best of all, when you leave your presentation, you'll know that your portrait selection is complete; no more procrastinating for months about making your selections. We streamline this process for you so that you can get your portraits as easily and quickly as possible. Please note that we do not email proofs of images. This is a fine art studio and selection process, so we recommend that you come prepared with dimensions and your gift list.
Finished art
A true fine art portrait will capture your spirit, tell your unique story, and above all, celebrate life. We consider every image we create for you to be fine art, and our goal is for you to have timeless portraiture that will become family heirlooms. As with fine art, we often will repeatedly revise our work, and print multiple copies of a single print (also known as "artist's proofs") until we are completely satisfied that we have created the most beautiful image possible. Our paper portraits are printed in-house, and hand-cut, using archival, heavyweight cotton rag papers with true pigmented inks. This process is rated to last at least 200 years, and we believe it is the most beautiful and nuanced method of photographic printing available.
A note about framing
With proper care, your portrait prints will last for generations. Your portrait photograph needs to be handled with care, like any piece of art, and we are pleased to offer Conservation Quality framing at our Denver studio. Framing is performed in-house by our expert framer, using archival materials, UV glass, and beautiful mouldings. Now all you need to do is hang them!
